Industrial A Grade Electrician — Montrose

Mobile Automation is an industrial electrical, automation and robotics contractor based in Montrose. We have been operating since 1987, and hold REC 8904. Most of our work sits across Melbourne's eastern and south-eastern industrial belt.

We are looking for an experienced A Grade electrician to join our electrical team.

About the role

You will work across breakdowns, installations, upgrades and factory relocations in industrial plants. In a given month that might mean fault-finding a stopped production line, terminating a new machine, commissioning a robot cell, or completing a machine safety upgrade.

• Breakdown response and fault-finding on production plant

• Machine installations, system upgrades and full factory relocations

• Switchboard and control cabinet construction in our own workshop, installed by the same crew

• Automation work alongside our engineers, covering PLCs, HMIs, VSDs, safety circuits and industrial communications

• Robot installations, where we deliver both the integration and the electrical scope

Our customers are in food and beverage, pharmaceutical, manufacturing and defence. You will generally work on your own or with an apprentice, and carry responsibility for decisions on site.

You will also work alongside our automation engineers and mechanical fitters on the same jobs, which is the quickest way to build controls experience.

What you need

• A Grade Electrical Licence (ESV) and a current Victorian driver's licence

• At least three years in an industrial environment such as manufacturing, food, process or heavy industry. Domestic or commercial fit-out experience on its own is not sufficient

• The ability to read and mark up schematics, isolate and test safely, and complete a job without rework

• Confidence dealing directly with maintenance managers and plant staff

• Australian work rights

Highly regarded

• VSD setup and fault-finding

• PLC and HMI work (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron)

• Machine safety experience

• AutoCAD Electrical

• Hazardous area experience

• EWP, confined space and working at heights tickets

• Robot experience of any kind
