About the role

Coopers Plumbing and Irrigation Pty Ltd is seeking experienced Journeyman Plumbers and Apprentices to join our growing team. This is a full-time position offering the opportunity to work on a diverse range of commercial and residential plumbing projects. As a key member of our plumbing team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality plumbing services, maintaining professional standards, and contributing to the continued success of our operations in the Canberra region.

Key responsibilities

• Install, repair and maintain plumbing systems in residential and commercial properties

• Diagnose plumbing issues and provide effective solutions to customers

• Read and interpret plumbing plans and specifications

• Ensure all work complies with relevant Australian plumbing codes and standards

• Use a range of plumbing tools and equipment safely and effectively

• Test plumbing systems to ensure they function correctly

• Communicate professionally with customers and provide advice on plumbing maintenance

• Maintain a clean and safe work environment on all job sites

• Potentially mentor and support apprentices or junior plumbers where applicable

About you

• Proven experience as a plumber or journeyman plumber in the residential and/or commercial sector

• Strong knowledge of Australian plumbing codes, standards and regulations

• Proficiency with plumbing tools, equipment and testing devices

• Ability to read and interpret technical plumbing drawings and specifications

• Sound problem-solving skills and attention to detail

• Excellent communication and customer service skills

• A valid driver's licence and own reliable transport

• Current First Aid certification is desirable

• Experience in gas fitting or irrigation systems would be advantageous
