Operations Manager

Catering Project are an emerging national catering business, and now we are excited to bring our passion for great food and service to QLD, launched in May across our 2 key brands, Catering Project and Pomelo & Co Events. 

We are seeking enthusiastic and experienced operations manager to join our creative, hardworking, and dynamic team based in Fortitude Valley.

Reporting to the General Manager, the Operations Manager will manage all operational activities across dispatch, logistics, and event set-ups and operations. 

This role also works closely with our kitchen, logistics, and events teams to ensure all operational tasks are completed accurately, safely, and on time to support exceptional client outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage all daily distribution and dispatch schedules to ensure timely and efficient client deliveries.

• Oversee order preparation, dispatch workflows, and inventory movement.

• Manage with event set-up and pack-down, ensuring equipment and products arrive on time and in full.

• Provide event operational support to execute in-line with company standards and clients' requirements.

• Maintain and manage equipment, vehicles, and related assets, including repairs and servicing.

• Plan and allocate staff workloads to maximise productivity and meet operational and financial targets.

• Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives using lean logistics techniques.

• Monitor stock levels with the department manager and report any stock loss or damage.

• Provide operational reporting and insights to management as required.

• Develop, implement, and train staff on standard operating procedures (SOPs).

• Ensure all orders are quoted accurately and in line with current specifications.

• Coordinate event logistics, ensuring labour, COGS, and external costs are captured and planned effectively.

About you

• Strong organisational and time-management skills.

• Experience in logistics, dispatch, warehouse operations, or event operations (preferred but not essential).

• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.

• Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach.

• Problem-solving mindset with a focus on accuracy and continuous improvement.

• Willingness to be hands-on and assist across different operational areas.
