Full Time | Ararat, VIC
Join a proudly Australian manufacturer and build agricultural machinery that makes a difference.

We are currently seeking a Tillage Assembly Operator to join our manufacturing team at our Head Office in Ararat, Victoria.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys working with tools, machinery and people and takes pride in producing quality work.
About the Role
As a Tillage Assembly Operator, you will play an important role in the production of Gason's agricultural machinery, assembling components and products to approved specifications while maintaining high standards of safety, quality and efficiency.
Working as part of the Assembly team, you will be responsible for interpreting drawings and instructions, using hand and power tools, identifying issues and ensuring completed products meet Gason's quality requirements.
No two days are necessarily the same, with opportunities to work across different assembly stations and gain experience across other areas of the manufacturing operation.

Assembling agricultural machinery components accurately and efficiently
Using hand and power tools to assemble, repair and modify components
Reading and interpreting technical drawings, diagrams, blueprints and instructions
Checking parts and components prior to assembly
Verifying connections and recording any discrepancies
Identifying defective or damaged components and reporting issues promptly
Working collaboratively with other assembly stations to maintain production flow
Maintaining a clean, organised and safe work area
Operating and caring for tools, equipment and instrumentation
Completing assembly documentation and production records accurately
Minimising waste and making efficient use of materials and resources
Rotating between assembly stations as required
Following all company safety, quality and production procedures
Maintaining accurate time and attendance records
Cross-training in other areas of the manufacturing plant as required
Undertaking other duties relevant to the role and manufacturing operation
What We're Looking For
We are looking for someone who is reliable, practical and takes pride in their work.
Ideally, you will have:
Previous experience in general assembly, manufacturing or a similar hands-on environment
Experience using hand and power tools
The ability to read and understand technical drawings or written instructions
Good basic maths and communication skills
Strong attention to detail
Good hand-eye coordination
A methodical approach to completing tasks
The ability to identify and solve problems
Good technological competency
The ability to work effectively as part of a team
A strong commitment to workplace safety and quality
Resilience, self-motivation and a positive attitude
The ability to work flexible factory production hours and arrive reliably for shifts
A forklift licence will be highly regarded.
Previous assembly experience or relevant specialised training is preferred; however, candidates who demonstrate the right attitude, mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn will also be considered.
Why Join Gason?
At Gason, you will be part of a proudly Australian manufacturing business with a long history in the agricultural industry.
We value:
Openness – embracing new ideas, change and new experiences.
Honesty – being genuine, accountable and straightforward with ourselves and others.
Respect – treating everyone with consideration and valuing their thoughts, abilities and contributions.
You will have the opportunity to develop your skills, cross-train across different areas of the manufacturing operation and contribute to the production of machinery used by Australian farmers.
