The Role:

We are seeking a passionate and customer-focused Barista to join the Amora team.

In this role, you will create high-quality coffee and beverage experiences while delivering exceptional customer service. You will play a key role in ensuring guests receive friendly, efficient service and that our café and beverage operations maintain the highest standards of quality, presentation, and professionalism.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare and serve high-quality coffee, beverages, and light food items in line with brand standards.

• Deliver exceptional customer service by greeting guests in a friendly, professional, and welcoming manner.

• Anticipate guest needs and respond to enquiries, requests, and concerns promptly and courteously.

• Maintain a thorough knowledge of menu offerings, promotions, hotel services, and outlet operations.

• Operate the POS system accurately, including processing transactions and ensuring all sales are recorded correctly.

• Assist with opening and closing duties in accordance with standard operating procedures.

• Maintain clean, organised, and well-presented workstations, displays, and service areas.

• Monitor stock levels, rotate stock using FIFO principles, and ensure products are stored correctly.

• Ensure all food and beverage displays are maintained to a high standard of presentation.

• Promote menu items and utilise upselling techniques to enhance the guest experience and drive revenue.

• Handle guest feedback professionally and escalate concerns to supervisors when required.

• Adhere to all company policies, food safety, hygiene, and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Assist the Food & Beverage leadership team with additional duties as required.

Skills and Experience

• Australian working rights (Australian Citizen, Permanent Resident, or valid work visa holder).

• Previous Barista experience in a café, restaurant, hotel, or hospitality environment.

• Strong coffee knowledge and beverage preparation skills, including espresso-based coffees.

• Current Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) certificate.

• Experience using POS systems and cash handling procedures.

• Strong numeracy skills and attention to detail.

• Excellent communication skills with a good command of spoken English.

• Strong customer service focus with a friendly and professional approach.

Desirable

• Experience in a similar Barista or hospitality role.

• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

• Strong teamwork and collaboration skills.

• Ability to use initiative and resolve guest enquiries and concerns.

• Excellent personal presentation and grooming standards.

• Flexibility to work a 7-day rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
