About the role
As Volunteer Manager at Untitled Group, you will play a pivotal role in attracting, engaging and retaining volunteers who embody our UG values for Beyond the Valley, Pitch Music & Arts and other events and festivals as required. Volunteers are an integral part of our festival and event success, and providing them with a fun, experiential learning or social impact opportunity is a key part of our Workforce model. You will support and manage the organisation and delivery of this workforce; ensuring behaviours, performance and expectations meet the requirements of department heads and stakeholders.
In collaboration with the Workforce & Crowd Care Manager and HR, you will help handle volunteer complaints and inappropriate behaviour, ensuring that volunteer engagements are being appropriately adhered to.
On ground, you will oversee the operation of Workforce HQ in collaboration with the Volunteer Manager and Workforce & Crowd Care Manager, and manage the Workforce Team and volunteers at Beyond the Valley and Pitch Music & Arts.
You will assist the Workforce & Crowd Care Manager with office duties and in the hiring process for single day festivals and events, such as Ability Fest, where needed.
Due to the nature of live events, out-of-hours work including evenings and weekends is required during festival and event delivery periods. The volume of out-of-hours work varies, with the highest demand during event bump-in, delivery, and bump-out.
The inherent needs of this role require a flexible schedule that includes evening and weekend work from time to time. This is a contract role (early September 2026 to late March 2027). Peak times will be November-December and February-March.
WE NEED FROM YOU: Must have a car and valid driver's license, and be willing and able to travel regionally.Must be able to work in the Untitled Group office in Windsor.Must have a laptop to be used for work.Must be willing and able to drive a buggy and 12 seater vanMust be fully available to work the Beyond The Valley period (December 14 2026 - January 8 2027, excluding Christmas Day).Must be fully available to work the Pitch Music & Arts period (February 15 - March 19 2027).Flexibility to work irregular hours, including weekends and holidays, and before, during and after business hours, during the Summer event period (October - April).Proven experience in a similar role, with knowledge of hiring and rostering processes.Ability to manage volunteers at scale.

You are equipped with tools to handle conflict eloquently, and manage crises if they occur. Similarly, you have a knowledge about HR practises and legislation.
