Accountant

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Accountant to join our professional accounting practice.

This position is suited to an early-career accountant who has at least one year of relevant accounting experience and is looking to further develop their skills in Australian accounting, taxation, compliance and business advisory services.

Key Responsibilities

• Answering telephone calls and assisting with client enquiries

• Bookkeeping

• Preparing BAS and tax return working papers

• Assisting with the preparation of company tax return and financial statements

• Completing bank, balance sheet and general ledger reconciliations

• Liaising with clients to obtain information and supporting documentation

• Providing administrative support to senior accountants

• Assisting with other accounting and compliance-related tasks as required

Essential Requirements

• At least one year of relevant accounting experience, preferably within an Australian accounting practice

• Completed or near completion of a degree in Accounting

• Familiarity with Australian taxation and accounting requirements

• Basic knowledge of accounting software, with experience in Access Handisoft

• Strong attention to detail and accuracy

• Good written and verbal communication skills

• Strong organisational and time-management skills

• A positive attitude and willingness to learn

• Australian permanent residency is mandatory
