About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and motivated Chef to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis. The successful candidate will be responsible for preparing and cooking a variety of dishes, maintaining food quality and presentation, and ensuring that kitchen operations comply with food safety and workplace health and safety requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Plan, prepare and cook a variety of dishes according to established recipes and customer requirements.
• Prepare ingredients, including meat, seafood, vegetables, sauces and other food products.
• Monitor food quality, portion sizes and presentation standards.
• Assist with menu planning and contribute ideas for new dishes and menu improvements.
• Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering food supplies and ingredients.
• Maintain appropriate food storage, temperature control and stock rotation procedures.
• Ensure all food preparation and kitchen activities comply with food safety and hygiene standards.
• Maintain a clean, organised and safe kitchen environment.
• Minimise food wastage and maintain appropriate portion control.
• Coordinate with kitchen and front-of-house staff to ensure timely service.
• Assist with supervising and guiding kitchen staff where required.
• Follow workplace health and safety procedures and maintain safe kitchen practices.

Skills and Experience

The successful applicant should have:

• Relevant qualification in Commercial Cookery or Hospitality, or equivalent skills and experience.
• Relevant commercial kitchen experience.
• Strong knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques and food safety requirements.
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a busy kitchen environment.
• Good communication and teamwork skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to food quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
