About This Role
Your new role:
As Clinical Nurse Consultant, you'll provide advanced clinical leadership and specialist expertise across Diabetes and Endocrinology services. Working collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team, rural and remote diabetes nurse educators and primary care providers, you'll influence best practice, support clinical teams and help deliver safe, high-quality, person-centred care.
Provide expert clinical consultancy and advanced nursing care for people with complex Diabetes and Endocrine conditions.Lead and support contemporary clinical practice, using advanced assessment, clinical judgement and evidence-based approaches.Provide clinical education, supervision, coaching and mentoring to nurses and the wider healthcare team.Deliver and support nurse-led telehealth clinics, helping extend specialist care to rural, regional and remote Queensland.
About You
You are an experienced Registered Nurse with advanced clinical knowledge in Diabetes and Endocrinology and the confidence to provide specialist leadership in a complex healthcare environment. You bring strong clinical judgement, communication and collaboration skills, together with a passion for education, innovation and improving patient outcomes.
Demonstrated advanced clinical knowledge and experience in Diabetes and Endocrinology nursing.Strong clinical leadership, critical thinking and advanced decision-making skills.Ability to provide expert clinical advice, education, mentoring and support to healthcare teams.Demonstrated commitment to evidence-based practice, quality improvement and clinical governance.

About Us
The Diabetes & Endocrinology Ambulatory Service at the Princess Alexandra Hospital provides Tertiary management for a broad range of Endocrine conditions including Diabetes (with a primary focus on patients with type 1 diabetes who require long term specialist multidisciplinary care), thyroid, pituitary, adrenal and reproductive conditions, endocrine genetics, complex obesity and complex bone conditions/osteoporosis. Consultations are held within the inpatient, outpatient (Burke Street Centre), and domestic settings. The diabetes and endocrine team provide an integrated multidisciplinary coordinated approach to improve health outcomes for adults who have complex diabetes. The department also provides a telehealth and outreach service for people with diabetes and endocrine conditions to rural, regional and remote areas of Queensland.
