NT Fasteners (a division of JH Group) is a Northern Territory based company operating from an office, showroom and warehouse building situated in the industrial area of Berrimah just outside of Darwin. It has served the region for over 25 years, supplying building tools, safety workwear, and heavy-duty hardware to the construction, marine, oil and gas, and defense industries We are seeking Accountant / Finance Officer to join our team.

The ideal candidate must be reliable, results-driven, self-motivated, and committed to positively contribute to the team environment. As an Accountant/ Finance Officer you will manage daily financial records, prepare reports, track budgets, and ensure compliance with tax laws and regulations. You will also handle accounts payable and receivable, reconcile bank statements, and support payroll systems.

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to: Process accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions, ensuring accurate and timely recording of financial information Prepare and maintain invoices, receipts, payment records, journal entries, lease documentation, and other financial records

Reconcile bank accounts, supplier accounts, customer accounts, and general ledger balances, identifying and resolving discrepancies where required Maintain accurate financial records, including fixed asset registers, and assist with asset management and related documentation Assist with the preparation of finance reports, account reconciliations, and month-end and year-end financial closing activities

Monitor outstanding accounts and follow up overdue payments in accordance with company procedures Assist with audit preparation, financial documentation, and other statutory reporting requirements Respond to finance-related enquiries from suppliers, and customers while providing administrative support to the sales team

Assist with processing payroll payments, superannuation contributions, tax, and recording related financial transactions Maintain organised financial filing systems and ensure records are complete, accurate, and up to date Ensure compliance with company policies, accounting procedures, and relevant Australian financial legislation

To be considered for this role you must have: At least 5 years’ work experience in the same field Knowledge in various accounting software is highly desirable

Intermediate MS Excel skills Demonstrated excellent organisational skills Strong attention to details

Excellent communication skills Excellent reporting skills Self-motivated, highly organised, punctual and reliable

Ability to adapt to a fast-paced work environment Can work independently or as part of a team Great work ethics
