Hayes Services is seeking an experienced, safety-minded Excavator Operator to join our team for long-term commercial civil projects.Job Overview

• Position: Excavator Operator

• Location: Local project sites (Travel required based on project pipeline)
• Compensation: Competitive hourly rate based on experience, plus overtime opportunities, travel allowance

Key Responsibilities

• Operate excavators ranging from 5 to 30 tonnes safely and efficiently.
• Perform civil tasks including trenching, bulk excavation, detailed grading, and backfilling.
• Conduct daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on machinery.
• Read and interpret site plans, blueprints, and survey pegs accurately.
• Collaborate closely with site supervisors, pipelayers, and ground crew.
• Adhere strictly to company WHS policies and environmental regulations.

Skills and Qualifications

• Valid Excavator Ticket (LE) or equivalent statement of attainment.
• White Card (General Construction Induction).
• Minimum 2–3 years of experience in civil construction or detailed earthworks
• Current Driver’s Licence and reliable transport.
• Strong work ethic with a commitment to punctuality and teamwork.

Pay: $40.00 – $47.00 per hour
