Welders/Fabricators/Boilermakers

Universal Welding services is looking for experienced Welders/Fabricators/Boilermakers to join our growing workshop team.

We are a family-owned business specialising in structural steel fabrication and installation, delivering high‑quality work for commercial and industrial projects across South East Queensland.

The role

This is a workshop-based position involving fabrication and welding of structural steel components according to drawings and specifications

Responsibilities:

• Fabrication and welding of structural steel and general metal components

• Reading and interpreting drawings, plans, and specifications

• Set up and operate hand and power tools common to the steel fabrication and welding.

• Perform physical laboring tasks associated with welding and fabricating work

• Maintaining safety standards and a clean, organised work area.

• Other duties as directed.

Requirements:

• 2+ year experience in a similar role

• Ability to read and interpret shop drawings

• Strong attention to details and workmanship

• Reliable and punctual with a good work ethic

• Ability to work safely in a workshop environment

• Good communication skills.

Desirable:

• Trade qualification in Engineering - Fabrication Trade

• Forklift, dogging or EWP licenses.

• White card

Hours:

• Generally 6:00am to 2:30pm Monday - Thursday with a half hour lunch break

• Early finish on a Friday 6:00am to 12:00pm with no lunch break

• Overtime as available
