Earthworks Supervisor

Black Cat Civil is a fast‑growing, Australian Indigenous‑owned civil contractor delivering major infrastructure projects across Queensland and the Northern Territory.

As we celebrate 20 years in the industry, we continue to expand and we’re now seeking an experienced Earthworks Supervisor to join our Infrastructure Division on a NT and Far North QLD Projects. These projects will be based on large scale Earthworks projects within a Mine Infrastructure setting.

The Opportunity

Black Cat Civil are looking for an experienced Earthworks Supervisors to join our Infrastructure Division working on Civil Projects based in the NT and QLD. These projects would suit candidates with a strong earthworks background or experience working in the mining resource sector where you have exposure to working with Tier 1clients.

FIFO arrangements: Flights, accommodation, and meals are provided while working away on 2/1 roster.

Key responsibilities include:

Our supervisors will be involved in a diverse range of works including:

• Plan, coordinate and oversee daily works on site
• Lead daily pre-start meetings and toolbox talks
• Supervise crews across TMR road construction activities
• Communicate effectively with clients, subcontractors, and internal teams
• Ensure safe work methodologies are implemented and followed
• Manage plant, labour, and resources in line with daily schedules
• Drive preventative maintenance practices for plant and equipment
• Ensure full compliance with site policies, procedures, and WHS requirements
• Lead and reinforce Black Cat Civil’s culture, standards, and expectations
• Complete accurate, timely daily Supervisor reports

Desired skills & experience:

This opportunity is ideal for any motivated Supervisors wanting to build a long-term career with growing civil contractor. The successful candidate MUST be willing to work in remote locations on various rosters as required.

• Minimum 4 years supervisory experience with reputable contractor.
• Demonstrated experience in Bulk Earthworks, Tailing Dams, Dozer/Grader/Moxy Circuits.
• Experience on Infrastructure Projects.
• Strong understanding Earthmoving Plant.
• Strong work ethic and leadership skills.
• Competent computer skills, including use of Microsoft Excel and Word.
• Road and Mine Infrastructure experiences
