As our services continue to grow across Sydney, we are looking for experienced Senior Support Workers to lead our Supported Independent Living (SIL) homes.
About the Role
As a Senior Support Worker, you will provide hands-on leadership and high-quality, person-centred support to participants living with mental health conditions, psychosocial disabilities, physical disabilities and complex support needs. You will support daily SIL home operations, provide guidance to Disability Support Workers, and lead by example to ensure safe, consistent and person-centred service delivery.
Reporting to the Disability Service Manager, you will help coordinate house/site activities, support team collaboration and promote a positive team culture while remaining actively involved in direct participant support. You will assist participants with daily living, community participation and behaviour support strategies in line with their goals, NDIS standards and organisational policies.
About You
We're looking for a confident and experienced Senior Support Worker who is passionate about mental health, supporting people with complex needs and developing high-performing teams.
To be successful in this role, you will have:
Experience as a Senior Support Worker, Team Leader or similar leadership role within NDIS sector.
Experience supporting participants with mental health conditions, psychosocial disabilities and behaviours of concern.
Strong understanding of Positive Behaviour Support Plans and restrictive practices.
Experience working within Supported Independent Living (SIL) and group home environments preferred.
Strong leadership, communication and problem-solving skills.
Strong understanding of restrictive practices
Ability to remain calm and make sound decisions in high-pressure situations.
A reliable, professional and person-centred approach to support.
Requirements
Current Australian Driver Licence.
Own Vehicle with Comprehensive Insurance.
NDIS Worker Screening Check.
National Police Check.
Current First Aid & CPR Certificate.
Working With Children Check.
100 points of identification.
Certificate IV in Disability, Community Services, Mental Health or a related qualification (preferred).
