Looking for an all-rounder site foreman for commercial construction projects, $3-$8 million project rangeLooking for someone who has been working for a residential builder and/or small commercial contractor and is keen to move into the larger commercial construction space.
The foreman will need to supervise and coordinate with trades, consultants, and clients to plan and monitor the work performance of subcontractors, suppliers, consultants, and possibly other employees to meet project timelines, quality, cost, and performance standards.
We are a small construction business that has grown with some larger commercial projects. The works are new-build childcare facilities, with some refurbishments to industrial and medical facilities.

Job tasks and responsibilities
The site Forman will have the following responsibilities and traits :
Can adhere to or improve upon the construction program
Implement fortnightly programmes from the overall project programme
Status of project programmes
Is proactive in organising subcontractors and suppliers
Is a 'process' thinker and does not just focus on the immediate task
Does not accept sub-standard performance of trades/subcontractors
Is a good communicator
Motivates others through a positive attitude
Maintains a clean and well-presented site
Ensure perimeter fencing brand signage is displayed and maintained in a clean, orderly manner throughout construction.
Develops a clear understanding of client objectives and expectations
React promptly and professionally to client enquiries, complaints and requests
Immediately redirect complaints or issues requiring senior management involvement
Able to discuss progress and quality on-site with the client
Professional in manner, attitude and presentation
Ensure ITPs are followed up in accordance with the site Quality plan and correctly signed off by either Subcontractor or ARK representative
Set the quality benchmark with subcontractors as they commence on-site
Monitor the quality benchmark daily – in other words, supervise Subcontractors as they carry out works, if substandard workmanship is evident,t request immediate rectification
Able to maintain up-to-date daily site records neatly and accurately
Have a good understanding of Subcontractors scope of work and ensure variation Instructions are not issued unless approved by senior management
Working knowledge of QA & WHS procedures and records
Keep accurate records of onsite design changes/client instructions-discussions
Maintain weekly photographic records of progress or potential delays,i.e. inclement weather, etc
Skills and experience
We are looking for someone with a trade background, preferably in carpentry, formwork, or bricklaying; however, we will also consider non-trade background candidates who have several years of experience working for a builder. If you have a Building Studies/Certificate 4 that would be ideal however not compulsory. General construction experience is fine, even with a small residential or project home builder. We need a minimum of 4-5 years of on-site supervision experience.
Applicants must possess valid Australian work authorisation to be eligible for this position.
A valid White Card certification is required for this role.
Job benefits and perks
A 5-day working week with no mandatory Saturday work. We work around the Sydney Metropolitan area and do not undertake CBD projects, so most of our sites have easy access to parking and are well-presented to ensure a clean and safe environment for all.
