Angar Environmental Services is a specialist environmental and waste management company committed to creating smarter, more sustainable solutions for the construction and industrial industries. Angar operates a specialised recycling and resource recovery facility in Keilor East, supported by strategically located depots across Victoria.
About the role
We are currently seeking a Yard Hand to join our team and assist with the day-to-day operations of our yard. This is a hands-on role suited to someone who is reliable, practical and enjoys working in a busy yard environment. The successful applicant will be required to assist with general yard duties, equipment handling, loading and unloading, housekeeping and operating machinery as required.
Key responsibilities
General yard labouring and maintenance
Loading and unloading equipment, materials and vehicles
Operating an excavator and other machinery as required
Driving HR vehicles between sites, depots and locations as required
Use of hand and power tools
Moving and organising equipment and materials around the yard
Maintaining a clean, tidy and organised yard
Assisting trades and operational crews with daily requirements
General manual handling and heavy lifting
Conducting basic checks and reporting any equipment or safety issues
About you
Current HR Licence – essential
Current Excavator Ticket – essential
Current Forklift Licence – highly regarded
Previous experience working in a yard, construction, civil, industrial or similar environment
Experience operating an excavator and/or other mobile plant
Good understanding of workplace health and safety
Reliable, punctual and hardworking
A positive attitude and willingness to get involved
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Reliable transport
