About The Role

BMD Constructions is seeking an experienced and driven Senior Project Engineer to join our team. Reporting to the Project Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of projects, contributing to both day-to-day operations and overall project performance.

In this role, you’ll take ownership across technical and commercial aspects of delivery, working closely with project teams, subcontractors and clients. You’ll also support and mentor engineers, helping to build capability across the team while ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and to a high standard.

Key Responsibilities

Maintain strong HSEQ awareness and ensure compliance across all project activitiesCoordinate contract administration, including insurances, bonds and project management plansMonitor construction programmes and track project performancePrepare and review monthly progress claims and subcontractor statementsManage subcontractor and supplier engagement, including negotiation and contract finalisationIdentify and manage variations, extensions of time (EOTs) and contract risksOversee cost control, including cost analysis, budgeting and monthly valuationsManage contract correspondence and maintain strong relationships with clients and consultantsCoordinate pre-start meetings and regular project meetings with stakeholdersIdentify critical materials and ensure procurement aligns with project timelinesLead and mentor engineers, delegating tasks and supporting developmentContribute to design management and overall project planning activities

About You

Degree qualified in Civil Engineering or a related disciplineDemonstrated experience as a Project Engineer or Senior Project Engineer within construction or infrastructure projectsStrong understanding of contract administration, cost control and commercial project deliveryProven experience managing subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholder relationshipsAbility to manage risk, variations and contractual obligationsStrong leadership skills with experience mentoring and supporting junior engineersExcellent communication and stakeholder engagement skillsHigh level of organisation and attention to detailCommitment to safety, quality and environmental outcomesFlexibility to travel to project sites as required
