About The RoleAs for our student-facing roles, Ascham teachers are responsible for the intellectual development and wellbeing of their students; and deliver excellence in developing and delivering academic programs through The Dalton Plan. The role also has a wellbeing component with teachers assigned a form class.
Commencing in Term 4, 2026 we are currently seeking a permanent full-time English Teacher. If you are a dynamic and inspiring teacher who can contribute to a highly experienced English department that is one of the top performing in NSW, we’d love to hear from you!
What You Will DoTeach English to students in years 7 to 12, and according to the NSW Education Standards Authority (NESA) curriculum, and Dalton principles of responsibility, independence, collaboration and reflection
Write, implement and evaluate high-calibre English teaching programs and Dalton assignments ensuring the knowledge, understanding and success of each student
Actively participate in the planning of curriculum, writing of programs and resources
Use formative and summative assessments to determine student progress
Submit marking, reports and academic results as required
Monitor and report on the progress of all students
Perform other duties as required.
A tertiary major in English literature and accreditation with NESA
Experience in teaching up to HSC levels and willingness to teach Extension 1 and 2 Stage 6 syllabus
A love of English and the ability to promote this throughout the School
Ability to follow instructions, work unsupervised and be a cooperative team member
Understanding of and commitment to WHS legislation and risk management principles
A valid Working with Children Clearance (WWCC) and First Aid certificate (or willingness to obtain).
