Non-Executive Director - FamilyCare Board

FamilyCare is one of regional Victoria's largest and most progressive community service organisations, supporting children, families, carers and people with disability across the Goulburn Valley and lower Hume region, with offices in Shepparton, Seymour, Wallan and Cobram.

FamilyCare is the main provider of child and family services in its region and also delivers disability, NDIS, carer and related community supports, including emergency recovery.

FamilyCare is seeking an experienced Non-Executive Director to join its Board at an important time in the organisation’s evolution, with a new Strategic Plan, new Board Chair and new CEO.

This opportunity will appeal to senior leaders who want to apply their legal, financial, commercial or governance expertise to an organisation delivering meaningful community impact.

About the Role
As a Board Director, you will contribute to:

• Strategic direction and organisational stewardship
• Governance, risk and compliance oversight
• Financial sustainability and sound decision-making
• Oversight of a values-led organisation serving diverse regional communities

We are particularly interested in candidates with senior experience in:

• Legal practice, governance, regulation, compliance or risk
• Finance, accounting, audit, commercial stewardship or financial oversight
• Complex, regulated or purpose-driven environments

Experience in human services, HR, digital transformation, data, AI or technology-enabled improvement will also be highly regarded.

What’s Involved

• Voluntary Non-Executive Director role
• Three-year term, with a maximum of three terms
• The Board currently meets ten times each year, with additional meetings as required
• Meetings are mostly in person, with some online participation
• Active contribution to Board subcommittees is expected
• Professional development is supported throughout tenure

Candidate Requirements

• Current Victorian Police check (FamilyCare will facilitate)
• Current NDIS Worker Screening Check (or willingness to obtain)
• Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain)
