The operator will be responsible for final trim grading to tight tolerances for roads, pads, and other civil construction works, following project plans and instructions from site supervisors. Day-to-day tasks include operating grader controls safely and efficiently, conducting pre-start inspections, reporting equipment faults, and working closely with surveyors, engineers, and other operators to achieve required levels and finishes. The role involves maintaining a clean and safe work area, adhering to all site safety procedures and traffic management plans, and completing basic documentation such as timesheets and inspection reports. The operator may also assist with general earthmoving tasks and support other plant operations as required.Qualifications Demonstrated experience operating graders for final trim work on civil construction projects, with the ability to work to tight tolerances and specifications.Strong understanding of earthworks, levels, and drainage, including reading and interpreting plans, drawings, and survey set-outs.Commitment to safe work practices, including adherence to OH&S procedures, participation in safety briefings, and proper use of PPE.Current relevant plant operator tickets or licenses for grader operation, and preferably a valid driver’s license suitable for site access.Ability to work effectively in a team environment, communicate clearly with supervisors and co-workers, and follow instructions with minimal supervision.Basic mechanical awareness to conduct pre-start checks, identify faults, and liaise with maintenance personnel when issues arise.Willingness to work in remote site conditions, follow site rosters, and adapt to changing project needs and priorities.Previous experience in mining, civil construction, or infrastructure projects in regional or remote areas is highly regarded.
