Project Manager

Our client is an established developer-builder with a dedicated development arm within the business, giving the company control across both the development and construction sides of its projects.

The business is currently delivering a four-stage residential development riverside in Brisbane’s north, with the project expected to continue for several years. There is opportunity for a Project Manager to take ownership of the broader project delivery and commercial outcomes as the development progresses.

The Role

The Project Manager will take ownership of project delivery from a programme, commercial and construction perspective, working across both the construction and development arms of the business.

Key responsibilities include:

• Manage projects from commencement through to completion, taking ownership of programme, budget, quality and overall delivery.
• Lead and support established site teams, consultants, subcontractors and key stakeholders.
• Manage budgets, cost forecasting, procurement, variations and overall commercial performance.
• Monitor project performance, identify commercial risks and drive programme and financial outcomes.
• Work closely with the development team to coordinate project requirements and resolve issues.
• Maintain strong stakeholder relationships and provide clear reporting to senior leadership on project progress, risks and key issues.

The Background

The business is open to candidates from different construction backgrounds. The priority is someone who can take control of a project and understand the commercial position.

The successful candidate will have:

• Strong commercial and financial understanding
• Experience with project controls, budgets and forecasting
• The ability to take ownership of projects from start to finish
• Experience managing established site teams
• A practical and decisive approach to problem solving
• Confidence dealing with senior stakeholders
• An interest in a long-term role with a growing developer-builder
