Sector: Tourism & Travel
Do you love working with people? Do you get a kick out of providing positive experiences? Are you a team player who likes making sure things run smoothly and excited to share Tasmania with the world?
If it’s an enthusiastic yes to all of the above, then you’re the kind of person that would fit in well at Drive Car Hire. We are looking for a customer-focused, commercially curious person to join our hands-on team and help grow our business.
What we offer you
Real career growth: We teach you the business from the ground up, scaling your role into account management and business development.
Flexible Hours: Stable weekday hours with genuine flexibility for the right person.
Voice That Matters: We are a small, collaborative team where your ideas are heard and implemented.
Comprehensive Training: Extensive on-the-job training alongside formal courses where relevant.
About Drive Car Hire
Drive Car Hire is a Tasmanian-owned car rental business with over 40 years of local history. We are a passionate team who love helping visitors explore our state by making the car rental experience fast, fair, and friction-free. Our clients range from individual travellers to travel agents and major corporate industry partners. Because we are a tight-knit team, we operate without rigid departmental boundaries - meaning you will make a real, visible contribution every day.
What you will be doing
Initially, you will master our customer experience and reservations processes. Over time, you will work directly with our General Manager to take full ownership of local partnerships and travel trade relationships.
Your daily tasks will include:
Partner relations: Manage bookings and enquiries, and build relationships with travel agents and trade partners.
Growth & lead follow-up: Track new leads, referrals, and identify growth opportunities with existing accounts.
Community engagement: Develop new local business relationships and initiatives that strengthen Drive's community presence.
Customer support: Assist travellers directly with bookings, enquiries, and Tasmanian travel plans.
Data: Maintain our CRM platform and assist with partner visits.
Events: Represent our business at industry events and assist with trade events.
About You
You might currently work in tourism, hospitality, travel, reservations, customer service, or another people-focused environment. You do not necessarily need to have worked in professional sales before - we hire for attitude and potential.
We are looking for someone who is:
Great with people: Confident, warm, and naturally builds rapport face-to-face, over the phone and via email.
Detail-oriented: Exceptionally organised, enjoys getting the details right and follows tasks through to completion.
Commercially curious: Eager to learn what makes customers happy and what drives business growth.
A solution finder: Proactive, willing to bring new ideas to the table and ready to support other team members.
