Assistant Head of Primary - Pastoral Care

Court Grammar School is a growing Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, Independent co-educational school in the Anglican tradition located in Mundijong. Our aim is to build a sense of belonging with the necessary frameworks to allow our students to feel valued and included in all facets of learning.

We are looking for a suitably qualified, highly motivated and collaborative full time Assistant Head of Primary – Pastoral Care to join our team for 2027.  

The key responsibilities of the role include (but not limited to):

• Being a proactive member of the Primary Management Team, attending and supporting meetings; supporting and working closely with the Head of Primary and other middle Primary coordinators

• Designing, monitoring, evaluating and ensuring the delivery of pastoral care policies, processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards are achieved throughout the School.

• Coordinating Primary School assemblies and Pastoral Care Line Ups

• Providing guidance, training and supervision to colleagues on all pastoral matters. Meeting, supporting and providing a listening ear for staff when needed.

• Ensuring a coordinated approach as students’ progress through the school.

• Working closely with the teaching staff to monitor children's relationships, development, well-being, behaviour and providing appropriate support and guidance to both.

• Ensuring all pastoral issues are appropriately recorded on the School database,

• Meeting and supporting parents when appropriate and maintaining a record of these meetings

• Establishing and monitoring a peer support system for new children to the school.

• To assist in staff induction and staff development, particularly ensuring that all teachers are suitably trained and qualified in pastoral care practices of the school.

• To be involved in classroom teaching as required

• To complete other related and reasonable tasks assigned by the School Principal.
