About the role
Court Grammar School is a growing Pre-Kindergarten to Year 12, Independent co-educational school in the Anglican tradition located in Mundijong. Our aim is to build a sense of belonging with the necessary frameworks to allow our students to feel valued and included in all facets of learning.
We are looking for a suitably qualified, highly motivated and collaborative full time Assistant Head of Primary – Pastoral Care to join our team for 2027.
The key responsibilities of the role include (but not limited to):
Being a proactive member of the Primary Management Team, attending and supporting meetings; supporting and working closely with the Head of Primary and other middle Primary coordinators
Designing, monitoring, evaluating and ensuring the delivery of pastoral care policies, processes and procedures to ensure the highest standards are achieved throughout the School.
Coordinating Primary School assemblies and Pastoral Care Line Ups
Providing guidance, training and supervision to colleagues on all pastoral matters. Meeting, supporting and providing a listening ear for staff when needed.
Ensuring a coordinated approach as students’ progress through the school.
Working closely with the teaching staff to monitor children's relationships, development, well-being, behaviour and providing appropriate support and guidance to both.
Ensuring all pastoral issues are appropriately recorded on the School database,
Meeting and supporting parents when appropriate and maintaining a record of these meetings
Establishing and monitoring a peer support system for new children to the school.
To assist in staff induction and staff development, particularly ensuring that all teachers are suitably trained and qualified in pastoral care practices of the school.
To be involved in classroom teaching as required
To complete other related and reasonable tasks assigned by the School Principal.
