 About the role

 Reporting to the Operations Excellence Lead, this role is responsible to continually identify and drive improvements within the business through technology and process improvements in the areas of inspection, handling and processing.  This will be achieved by ensuring engineering standards of analysis, validation, quality, cost, safety, timeliness and performance are observed. 

Skills and experience

 Production

·         To identify improvement projects and then complete the investigation into the viability and priority of those projects with appropriate Production and R & D personnel.

·         To priorities and implement approved production engineering projects in line with the requirements of production

·         To set project timelines and ensure targets are met

·         To identify high risk areas in terms of potential manufacturing down time and suggest/implement risk minimisation strategies

Design

·         Be aware of new methods and materials that are available for use to reduce costs

·         Assist with the investigation, and completion of, Engineering Changes that require engineering input

·         Identify and set the quality standards of products from suppliers and external service providers to ensure appropriate quality standards are maintained

·         Ensure procedures and work instructions are understood, implemented and maintained

·         Assist other personnel involved in the development of new / improved manufacturing methods and tooling as an aid towards increased efficiency and productivity

 Documentation

·        To ensure a systematic consistent approach to data collection and engineering change implementation

·        To ensure that documentation is created, maintained, distributed and utilised to achieve industry best practice process and product quality

·        To create and systematically capture design documentation, critical design decisions, experimental records and test outcomes

·        To maintain records of project resources and costs for accurate budgetary tracking
