Logan Contracting is looking for an experienced Fitter to join our workshop team in Cobden. This is a hands-on role for someone who takes pride in keeping machinery running reliably — and who’s ready to get out into the field when a breakdown can’t wait.

Reporting to the Workshop Manager, you’ll be responsible for the maintenance, repair, fitting, assembly and fabrication of the machinery, equipment and mechanical components that keep our operations moving — especially through the peak agricultural seasons when uptime matters most.

What you’ll be doing

• Fitting, assembling and repairing mechanical components, machinery and equipment, from diagnosing the fault through to testing the fix
• Diagnosing and repairing hydraulic and pneumatic systems, including hoses, cylinders, valves, pumps and fittings
• Carrying out scheduled and preventative maintenance on machines, trucks, trailers and workshop equipment
• Responding to breakdowns in the workshop and out in the field, and working efficiently under time pressure during busy periods
• Keeping the workshop safe, organised and well stocked, and maintaining accurate job and maintenance records
• Working safely and in line with all OH&S policies and procedures

What we’re looking for

• 2–3+ years’ experience in a similar fitting/mechanical role
• A relevant Australian-recognised trade qualification
• A current driver’s licence (forklift licence highly regarded)
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills
• A proven ability to operate machinery to a high standard
• Someone well organised, detail-focused and comfortable working both independently and as part of a team
• Flexibility to work Monday to Friday with some overtime and occasional weekends as required

Remuneration

$78,000 to $84,000 dependent on experience.
