Barista / Wait Staff Allrounder

About the role

We are seeking a Barista and Wait Staff Allrounder to join the team at Chinta in North Perth. This is a casual position that offers flexibility and the opportunity to work in a dynamic hospitality environment. As an allrounder, you will be the backbone of our front-of-house operations, combining barista expertise with exceptional customer service to create memorable experiences for our guests. Your role will be integral to maintaining the high standards Chinta is known for, working both behind the bar and on the floor to ensure seamless service delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve high-quality espresso-based beverages, specialty coffees and other hot and cold drinks with consistency and flair

• Greet guests warmly and seat them promptly, ensuring a welcoming first impression

• Take orders accurately and efficiently, responding to guest requests with professionalism and attentiveness

• Deliver food and beverages to tables in a timely manner, maintaining high presentation standards

• Maintain a clean, hygienic and organised work environment across both bar and service areas

• Process payments and manage point-of-sale systems accurately

• Respond to guest inquiries and feedback with courtesy and problem-solving mindset

• Support team members during busy periods to ensure smooth service flow

• Maintain knowledge of menu offerings, ingredients and beverage options to make recommendations

• Follow health and safety protocols and food handling procedures at all times

What we're looking for

• Proven experience working as a barista and wait staff member in a fast-paced hospitality environment

• Strong knowledge of coffee preparation techniques, espresso machines and milk steaming

• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to engage guests and create positive interactions

• Ability to multitask effectively, managing both bar and floor duties simultaneously

• Professional communication skills and a friendly, approachable demeanour

• Attention to detail in both beverage preparation and service standards

• Reliability and the ability to work flexibly within a casual employment framework

• Passion for hospitality and commitment to delivering exceptional customer experiences

• Food handling and hygiene certification (or willingness to obtain) is desirable
