We’re looking for a permanent full-time Chef position at Paloma Wine Bar, a neighbourhood wine bar celebrating seasonal food, thoughtful cooking, and genuine hospitality.

We pride ourselves on creating a dining experience where exceptional food, an extensive wine list, and warm service come together in a relaxed yet refined setting.

Located in the heart of Burleigh Heads, Paloma Wine Bar has become a Gold Coast institution, known for its relaxed atmosphere, thoughtful wine and cocktail list and produce-driven menu. From our much-loved Steak Frites and seasonal small plates to our popular Wednesday Burger Night, Paloma has built a loyal local following by delivering quality food, great wine and genuine hospitality.

Our kitchen focuses on classic techniques, seasonal ingredients and simple, well-executed dishes that let exceptional produce shine. We’re looking for a chef who shares our passion for consistency, craftsmanship and creating memorable dining experiences.

As a Chef, you’ll be responsible for maintaining our high standards across every service. The role requires consistency, attention to detail, and a genuine passion for seasonal cooking.

• Prepare, cook and present dishes to our established standards.

• Contribute to menu development using seasonal produce and quality ingredients.

• Deliver consistent, high-quality food that exceeds guest expectations.

• Monitor stock levels, ordering, storage, rotation and stock control to minimise waste.

• Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.

• Support the recruitment and onboarding of new kitchen team members.

• Maintain an organised, efficient and positive kitchen environment.

• Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene and workplace health and safety requirements.

• Work collaboratively with the group Executive Chef and wider kitchen team to deliver exceptional service.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

• A Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent recognised qualification.

• At least two years of relevant full-time experience as a Chef or equivalent experience.

• Strong knowledge of food safety and kitchen operations.

• The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

• Excellent organisational and communication skills.

• A genuine passion for seasonal produce and quality food.

• The ability to work collaboratively within a professional kitchen team.

• Experience in modern Australian or wine bar-style dining is advantageous but not essential.

$75,000 – $82,500 per annum, plus superannuation.

Salary will be negotiated based on skills and experience.
