Mawsons Concrete and Quarries produce quality construction materials throughout Northern Victoria and Southern NSW and has a successful business history spanning over 110 years across regional communities. Mawsons growth in recent years has taken it to over 550 employees across 80 sites. We are seeking an experienced Learning & Development professional to lead our Learning & Development team. Reporting to the General Manager – Human Resources, this role requires a well-organised and forward-thinking leader who will deliver practical, high-quality learning outcomes that support our people and business. This role may be based in Cohuna, Echuca, Bendigo, or Shepparton and offers flexible working arrangements.
Duties Include
Develop and lead Mawsons’ learning and development strategy, ensuring alignment with organisational objectives, workforce planning and long-term capability requirements.
Partner with leaders across the business to progress Mawsons digital training and use of technology platforms to manage and develop organisational talent and capability.
Conduct organisation-wide capability assessments to identify current and emerging skill gaps and establish capability frameworks and career pathways to support succession planning and talent development.
Lead strategic leadership and management development across all levels, aligned with organisational values, culture and behavioural standards.
Establish and maintain governance, frameworks and standards for learning design, delivery and evaluation, ensuring compliance with regulatory, safety and risk requirements.
Monitor and report on strategic L&D metrics and KPIs, evaluating the impact of key initiatives on organisational performance and capability, and using data-driven insights to inform continuous improvement and executive decision-making.
Criteria
Strong communication skills with a professional and respectful approach
Demonstrated management experience with a collaborative, team-focused leadership style
Sound digital and system skills, able to confidently use and adapt to a range of business software, LMS and technology platforms.
Diploma-level qualification in training or a related field preferred, along with relevant industry experience
Understanding of training institutions and qualification frameworks, including apprenticeships
Well-developed time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and meet deadlines
A genuine commitment to workplace safety, quality outcomes and continuous improvement
