Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Technician

Tasty One is a leading Australian-owned food manufacturer supplying fresh produce to major retailers across Australia. Operating from our modern facility in Melbourne's west, we're looking for an experienced Maintenance Fitter / Maintenance Technician to join our maintenance team.

This is a hands-on role for someone who enjoys diagnosing faults, solving problems and keeping production equipment running efficiently. If you're mechanically minded with some electrical fault-finding experience, we'd love to hear from you.

About the Role

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you'll be responsible for maintaining and repairing a variety of food processing and packaging equipment to minimise downtime and maximise production efficiency.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Responding to mechanical breakdowns and production equipment faults

• Performing preventative and reactive maintenance

• Diagnosing mechanical faults and assisting with electrical fault finding

• Maintaining motors, conveyors, pumps, gearboxes, pneumatic and automated equipment

• Replacing components including sensors, switches and motors

• Assisting with installation and commissioning of new equipment

• Supporting continuous improvement initiatives

• Completing maintenance documentation and records

• Working safely and contributing to a strong safety culture

About You

We're looking for someone who has:

• A Mechanical Fitter trade qualification (or equivalent maintenance experience)

• Experience maintaining manufacturing or production equipment

• Strong mechanical fault-finding and problem-solving skills

• Basic electrical troubleshooting experience

• Experience working with motors, conveyors, pumps and pneumatic systems

• A proactive attitude and the ability to work independently and within a team

• A strong commitment to workplace health and safety

Desirable (but not essential)

Experience in any of the following would be highly regarded:

• Food manufacturing or FMCG environments

• PLC fault finding (programming not required)

• Variable Speed Drives (VSDs)

• Hydraulic and pneumatic systems

• Preventative maintenance programs or CMMS

• Continuous production environments
