The Opportunity  

Join Hewitt Agribusiness as a Bore Runner and play a vital role in maintaining and improving critical water and electrical infrastructure across the Narwietooma Aggregation. This hands-on position offers variety, autonomy, and the opportunity to work across vast and remote landscapes. You will be responsible for ensuring the reliability of solar bore systems and station assets. Working both independently and alongside the station team, your contribution will directly support operational efficiency and livestock wellbeing. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who enjoys practical problem-solving and working in dynamic environments. 

What you will be doing.  

• Monitor, maintain, and repair off-grid solar bore pumps and station electrical assets with the assistance of Farmbot telemetry systems.
• Travel across the property to inspect, troubleshoot, and respond to breakdowns  
• Maintain bores, troughs and water points to keep livestock healthy  
• Service equipment and fences
• Monitor stock and report any issues  

About You 

You are a practical, self-motivated professional who thrives in remote and hands-on roles. With strong mechanical and electrical expertise and a proactive mindset, you enjoy solving problems and working across varied tasks. You are comfortable working independently and managing your time effectively in isolated conditions. Your adaptability and willingness to contribute to broader station operations make you a valuable team member. Above all, you are committed to safety, reliability, and continuous improvement. 

You will bring 

• Previous experience in a similar role or a trades background (desirable)  
• Experience in with electrical and solar bore/ water pumps (advantageous)
• Knowledge of generators and mechanical systems (advantageous)  
• Experience working in remote, agricultural, or station environments (advantageous)  
• You are honest, reliable and self-sufficient – you’re someone who takes initiative and gets things done
