Bartender/Bar Lead – Kurrajong Hotel Erskineville

About the role

Park Street Bistro is seeking an experienced Bartender to take ownership of the bar during service. You will deliver consistent cocktails, beer and wine service while keeping the bar organised, stocked and ready for trade. This is more than a drinks-production role. You will engage guests, make confident recommendations, maintain control of service and take pride in every aspect of the bar.

You will be part of our Opening Team, starting August 31st.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and serve cocktails, wine, beer and non-alcoholic beverages.
• Take ownership of bar setup, service and close-down procedures.
• Deliver consistent drinks according to recipes and presentation standards.
• Engage guests and provide confident beverage recommendations.
• Maintain awareness of docket times and restaurant service flow.
• Keep the bar clean, organised and correctly stocked.
• Complete opening, closing and cleaning checklists.
• Monitor stock levels and communicate ordering requirements.
• Receive and correctly store beverage deliveries.
• Assist with stocktakes, transfers, wastage and breakage recording.

About you

• A minimum of three years’ bartending experience in a busy restaurant, bistro or quality bar is essential.
• Strong cocktail, wine and beer knowledge, with particular confidence discussing wine.
• Able to work independently and take ownership of the bar.
• Strong organisation and ability to prioritise during busy services.
• Confident communicating with guests and making recommendations.
• Understanding of cellar management and stock control is highly regarded.
• Professional, reliable and calm under pressure.
• Current NSW RSA is essential.
• Food Handler Certificate is required.
• Must have valid Australian working rights.
• Flexible availability, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.
