About the Role 

We’re looking for experienced Mechanical Engineering Draftspersons to join our growing team. In this role, you will provide design solutions and technical support across SMP disciplines, working closely with clients and internal stakeholders to deliver high-quality results. 

Key Responsibilities 

• 3D Modeling & Design: Create and develop detailed 3D models, assemblies, and systems using Autodesk Inventor/ SolidWorks/ Tekla based on project requirements. 

• 2D Drafting & Documentation: Produce accurate technical drawings and documentation that adhere to industry standards; Create Material take off, Bill of quantities & Bill of materials

• Collaboration: Work with project teams to design and draft mining equipment, structures, and piping systems, ensuring alignment with engineering standards. 

• Client Engagement: Liaise with clients, Project Managers, and team leads to manage project progress and expectations from concept to delivery. 

• Technical Analysis: Interpret project data, specifications, vendor drawings, and design requirements to create practical engineering solutions. 

• Project Delivery: Ensure timely and precise completion of assigned tasks, including material take-offs, bills of quantities, and bills of materials. 

• Site Engagement: Conduct site visits for tasks such as laser scanning, inspections of mechanical and structural components, and other site-specific requirements. 

• Client Integration: Work on client premises as an integrated team member, contributing to projects as needed. 

• Mentorship: Provide guidance, training, and support to junior designers or draftspersons, fostering skill development and ensuring quality outputs. 

• Additional Tasks: Perform other responsibilities as required to support project objectives and deliverables. 

What We’re Looking For 

Mandatory Qualifications & Skills: 

• Advance Diploma or Diploma qualification in Drafting, Design, and Engineering; 

• Minimum of 2 years’ experience using CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, Tekla, AutoCAD, MicroStation), preferably in the mining industry. 

• Strong Inventor proficiency in 3D modelling and drafting. 

• Interest and experience in Structural, Mechanical & Piping (SMP) projects. 

• Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a collaborative mindset. 

• Full-time work rights in Australia. 

Desired Qualifications & Skills: 

• Familiarity with Australian and ISO Standards; and industry best practices. 

• A strong understanding of design tools, techniques, and principles. 

• Fast learner with a proactive attitude and the ability to adapt to diverse projects. 

• Exceptional time management and organizational skills.
