About the role
This is a great opportunity for an organised and personable Administration Assistant to join the Primary team at John Paul College.
The Administration Assistant (Primary) provides comprehensive support to ensure the smooth operation of departmental activities, projects and processes.
This is a part-time, 12 month contract covering a period of maternity leave, commencing September 2026.
About the RoleReporting to the Dean of Students (Primary), this role will be responsible for:
Fostering a positive, professional and collaborative work environment for the Deans and the administrative team in Primary Administration.
Providing efficient administrative support, including proactive management of schedules, coordinating meetings and overseeing team logistics.
Undertaking quality control tasks such as document reviews, process management, data entry and compiling information.
Preparing accurate correspondence, data and reports to support compliance activities and audits.
Collaborating with colleagues, parents and associates of the College to deliver efficient services to the Primary team and wider school community.
Managing incoming correspondence, communications and tasks promptly and professionally, prioritising deadlines with sound judgment.
Adhering to health, safety and environmental policies and procedures.
Maintaining strict confidentiality, discretion and consistent sound judgement are critical attributes for any candidate considering this role.
About YouYou bring strong organisational skills and excellent attention to detail, along with a proactive and professional approach to administrative support.
Candidates for this role will need to be able to share their relevant and recent experience in:
Delivering administrative support with the proven ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to build effective relationships with staff, students and parents.
High level proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams), with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
Managing competing priorities and working independently, with initiative and sound judgement.
Previous experience in a school or similarly fast-paced administrative environment is preferred but not essential.
Handling confidential and sensitive information with discretion and professionalism.
As this role will operate in an environment where children are present, the successful candidate will be required to hold and maintain a positive notice Blue Card (Working with Children check) prior to commencement and for the duration of employment.
