About the Opportunity

As a Registered Nurse within the Acute Care Team, you will play a vital role in supporting individuals experiencing acute mental health concerns. Working across community and inpatient settings, you will deliver timely assessments, coordinate care, provide crisis interventions, and support consumers and their families through challenging times.

This position plays a key role in delivering timely, high-quality mental health assessments, crisis intervention and acute care to the Central Coast community. In this role you will:

• Conduct comprehensive mental health assessments and provide timely crisis intervention.
• Deliver person-centred acute care and coordinate ongoing case management.
• Collaborate with consumers, families, carers and multidisciplinary teams to achieve positive outcomes.
• Triage referrals and provide expert mental health advice to healthcare professionals and partner organisations.

About You

We are looking for someone who has:

• Current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA).
• Recent experience in mental health assessment, acute care and crisis intervention.
• Strong clinical judgement and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced multidisciplinary environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to person-centred, recovery-oriented care.
• Resilience, integrity and a commitment to continuous learning, quality improvement and evidence-based practice.
