Medical Receptionist

Yeronga Medical Centre is looking for a friendly and motivated individual to join our busy general practice reception team in a casual position (Monday to Friday).

Previous experience as a medical receptionist and a familiarity with Medical Director is preferred; however training can be provided for the right candidate. A committed and patient-focused attitude, along with a strong willingness to learn and improve, is essential in this role. 

Receptionist duties include:

• Liaising with patients during check-in and check-out 

• Scheduling patient appointments, including recalls and cancellations

• Managing incoming and outgoing telephone calls

• Performing data entry

• Processing patient payments and submitting third-party claims

• Managing incoming and outgoing mail

• Maintain the appearance and cleanliness of the surgery, including consultation rooms

• Respond to patient enquiries and relay important messages to doctors

Ideal applicants will have:

• Previous customer service or reception experience

• Proficiency with Pracsoft and Medical Director software (or similar)

• Demonstrated ability to work both autonomously and within a team

• Flexible availability to cover shifts and support colleagues as required

• Advanced computer literacy

• A patient-centred approach to work

• Excellent communication skills

• High reliability 

• Strong attention to detail
