O'Loughlin Catholic College is seeking a passionate and dedicated Full-time Teacher – Leader of Wellbeing for Learning to join our growing learning community across multiple faculties and year levels, commencing on negotiated start date for the 2027 school year, this position offers an initial contract with the potential to transition into ongoing employment.

The Opportunity

We are seeking an inspiring, visionary, and compassionate educator to join our Senior Leadership Team as the Leader of Wellbeing for Learning.

This pivotal executive role drives the strategic direction, implementation, and evaluation of student pastoral care and wellbeing across the college. Working collaboratively with school leaders, staff, students, and families, you will lead a holistic, social-emotional, and spiritual approach that links student wellbeing directly to learning success.

From managing complex student matters to leading key college transition events and professional learning, you will empower student agency and cultivate a thriving, supportive school culture grounded in Gospel values.

Key Responsibilities

• Strategic Pastoral Leadership: Lead the development, execution, and evaluation of the College’s Pastoral Care and Wellbeing Framework and chair the Student Wellbeing and Support Team (SWAM)
• Culture & Student Support: Support Heads of House and Personal Development Leaders; manage complex pastoral or behavioural matters with expert judgment, escalating to Executive Leadership when appropriate.
• Transition & Community Engagement: Lead major College events including Year 6 Open Day; Year 7 Orientation, Senior School Information Sessions, Year 12 Graduation, and Mental Health Week.
• Academic & Pathway Tracking: Conduct regular tracking meeting with Heads of House, SACE/NTCET, VET/Careers, and Inclusion Support leaders to ensure smooth student transitions into senior pathways.
• Student Leadership & Agency: Partner with the Leader of Mission, Student Voice and Agency, and Student Representative Council (SRC) to build leadership capacity and organise key events/assemblies.
• Enrolment & Professional Learning: Conduct prospective student enrolment interviews, review pastoral policies, represent the College at CENT network meetings, and deliver staff professional development on student wellbeing.

Essential Requirements

• Four-year trained teacher qualifications with active (or eligibility for) Teacher Registration Board (TRB) NT accreditation.
• Proven leadership experience in student pastoral care, wellbeing, and behavioural management within a secondary school context.
• Current NT Ochre Card (Working with Children Check) from SAFE NT.
• Outstanding communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills to partner with staff, families, and external support agencies.
• Active commitment o maintaining Work, Health & Safety standards, Duty of Care, and confidentiality.
• Australian citizen or resident.
• Driver’s License

Desired Qualifications

• Master’s level qualification (or a commitment to enrol in further postgraduate study)
• Accreditation to teach in a Catholic School (or willingness to work towards it)
• Mental Health First Aid certification.
