Exercise & Sports Science Australia (ESSA) is the nation’s leading voice on exercise and sports science. We govern and represent approximately 10,000 degree-qualified accredited exercise professionals who support Australians to reach their health and performance goals.

About your role

The Finance Officer supports ESSA’s day-to-day finance operations, including accounts payable and receivable, reconciliations, payroll and month-end activities. This hands-on role suits someone who is organised, accurate and focused on efficient ways of working.

You will:

• Manage accounts payable and receivable
• Complete bank and balance sheet reconciliations
• Process payroll and maintain accurate payroll records
• Support month-end, reporting, budgeting and forecasting
• Assist with BAS, audits and finance compliance
• Improve and automate finance processes where possible

Your competitive edge will include:

• Experience in finance administration
• Strong accounts payable, receivable and reconciliation skills
• Experience with accounting software, ideally Xero
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
• Strong organisation and time management skills
• Intermediate to advanced Excel skills
• A relevant bookkeeping, accounting or finance qualification
• Experience with Employment Hero (desirable)
