Dental Assistant

About the role

Dental for Everybody is seeking a Dental Assistant to join our team on a casual basis at our Chirnside Park location. This is an excellent opportunity to become part of a dynamic dental practice where you will provide essential support to our dentists. As a Dental Assistant, you will play a crucial role in ensuring smooth clinical operations, maintaining high standards of patient care, and contributing to a welcoming environment for our patients. This casual position offers flexibility whilst allowing you to make a meaningful difference in patients' oral health outcomes.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting dentists during clinical procedures by preparing instruments, materials and equipment

• Providing chairside support to ensure patient comfort and safety during dental treatments

• Sterilising and maintaining dental instruments and equipment in accordance with infection control protocols

• Recording patient medical and dental histories and maintaining accurate clinical notes

• Preparing treatment rooms and restocking supplies as required

• Greeting patients, scheduling appointments and managing reception duties

• Supporting the dental team with administrative tasks including filing, data entry and organisation of patient records

• Maintaining a clean, hygienic and professional environment throughout the practice

• Following all health and safety regulations and infection control procedures

What we're looking for

• Completion of a Certificate III or IV in Dental Assisting, or equivalent qualification recognised by the Dental Board of Australia

• Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Dental Assistant, or eligibility to register

• Knowledge of dental procedures, terminology and clinical protocols

• Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a compassionate approach to patient care

• Ability to work effectively as part of a collaborative dental team

• Basic computer skills for managing patient records and appointment systems
