Part-Time Bookkeeper for Xero

About the role

Adventura Caravans Pty Ltd is seeking a Part-Time Bookkeeper for Xero to join our finance team on a casual basis. This role offers the flexibility of part-time work whilst providing essential bookkeeping support to our business. Based in Epping VIC 3076, this position is ideal for someone looking to maintain a flexible work schedule while contributing to our financial operations. You will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring our accounting systems run smoothly through the Xero platform.

Key responsibilities

• Recording and reconciling financial transactions in Xero with accuracy and attention to detail

• Processing accounts payable and accounts receivable transactions on a regular basis

• Performing bank reconciliations to ensure all payments and deposits are correctly matched

• Preparing and maintaining general ledger accounts

• Assisting with month-end and year-end close procedures

• Managing invoicing and payment processing for clients and suppliers

• Supporting the preparation of financial reports and statements

• Ensuring all bookkeeping records comply with relevant accounting standards and company policies

What we're looking for

• Proven experience as a bookkeeper or in a similar accounting role within small to medium-sized businesses

• Advanced proficiency with Xero accounting software is essential

• Strong understanding of bookkeeping principles, including double-entry accounting and reconciliation procedures

• Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple transactions and deadlines

• High level of accuracy and attention to detail when handling financial data

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and other office software

• Strong communication skills and the ability to work independently

• Relevant accounting qualification or certification (such as a Certificate in Bookkeeping or similar) is desirable

• Experience in the automotive, retail or caravanning industry would be advantageous but is not essential
