About the role
Step into a role where your technical expertise, customer service mindset, and people skills genuinely make an impact. Hanwha Defence Australia is expanding, and we’re seeking Field Service Representatives (FSRs) who thrive in hands on environments, enjoy solving complex technical challenges, and can build strong, professional relationships with Defence personnel and stakeholders. If you have experience in Armour this job is for you, although Armour experience is not necessary for these roles.
About the Role
As a Field Service Representative, you’ll ensure Hanwha and Commonwealth-owned Mission Systems maintain high vehicle availability for daily Defence operations. You’ll deliver expert maintenance, repairs, and technical support across advanced mission system equipment—both in the workshop and out in the field.
Reporting to the FFSR Supervisor, you’ll act as a Subject Matter Expert on Hanwha designed equipment, support training activities, and provide real-time solutions to Army and contracted maintainers. This role includes local, interstate, and international travel, plus fieldwork in all seasons—ideal for someone who enjoys variety, autonomy, and meaningful work.
What You’ll Be Doing
• Act as the primary point of contact for maintenance related technical issues
• Liaise with CoA SPO engineers, internal teams, and external stakeholders
• Conduct engineering and technical tasks, including maintenance engineering analysis
• Support repairs, upgrades, retrofits, and product quality investigations
• Review and interpret HUMS and Fire Control Systems data
• Assist with training delivery, including Introduction into Service (IIS) and sustainment courses
• Support RODUM investigations and Help Desk operations
• Develop maintenance SOWs, specifications, and contribute to engineering proposals
• Review designs and support logistics analysis activities
• Provide on the job training to Army and contracted maintainers
• Ensure compliance with HSE and Security requirements across all sites
• Work flexibly, including out of hours and weekend support when required
Strong communication, customer service, and people skills are essential. You’ll be working closely with Defence personnel, engineers, and maintainers—your ability to collaborate, influence, and resolve issues professionally will set you apart.
What You’ll Bring
Mandatory
• Certificate III Mechanical Engineering or Heavy Vehicle Diesel Mechanic Relevant Qualifications or Armour experience
• Australian Citizenship and eligibility for NV1 security clearance
• Ability to travel and work flexibly, including weekends
• Strong interpersonal and customer service skills
Desirable
• HR licence, LF forklift licence, armoured vehicle driving qualification
• TAE Cert IV (Training & Assessment)
• Experience in Army/ADF vehicle maintenance or Defence platforms
• Workshop experience and familiarity with PLM suite, SAP, and Defence systems
• Proven ability to manage competing priorities in fast paced environments
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and decision-making skills
• Ability to train, mentor, and assess technical personnel
• A collaborative, innovative mindset with meticulous attention to detail
