We are run by Aboriginal people for Aboriginal people and work to provide culturally appropriate health, aged care and general support services in regional and remote communities, helping people to get home to country and family.

About the Role

Purple House is seeking an experienced Finance Officer who will work under the general direction of the Chief Finance and Operations Manager (CFOM). The position is responsible for providing assistance across the finance team and general administrative tasks for the CFOM.

Key responsibilities

• Accounts payable processing
• Credit card processing and reconciliation
• Medicare claiming
• Payroll processing
• Accounts receivable
• General administration support services
• Providing cross-functional coverage during staff leave
• Identifying and reporting financial discrepancies
• Maintaining compliance with WHS and organisational policies
• Working collaboratively within a finance team
• Other Duties as required within trained capability and classification

About You

To be successful in this role, you will bring:

Essential

• Qualification in Bookkeeping or Accounting
• Demonstrated Accounts Payable, Receivable and/or Payroll experience
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Well-developed organisational & time management skills, able to identify and prioritise work with high level attention to detail
• Be able to work autonomously & collaboratively in a team environment
• Proven intermediate computer skills in Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
• The ability to proactively support a team in a busy professional office
• Willingness and capacity to work in a cross-cultural environment
• Ability to work collaboratively in a multi-disciplinary environment.

Highly Desirable

• Experience in using MYOB, Lightyear, Employment Hero software
• Experience working for an Indigenous organisation.
