Black Swan Health is one of the largest primary health care organisations in WA. This multi-award-winning company employs a full multi-disciplinary health professional and disability services team.
With several funding streams, Black Swan Health delivers a range of primary health services including (but not limited to), diabetes and multidisciplinary chronic conditions services, psychology and counselling services, youth mental health services, early psychosis treatment and recovery programs, street doctor services, psychosocial disability services and disability services.
Black Swan Health is an independent not-for-profit organisation governed by an experienced and skills-based Board of Directors.
The Role
The Finance Officer is responsible for maintaining all financial transactions of Black Swan Health by managing the accounts payable and accounts receivable functions as well as reconciliations and analysis.
Duties and Responsibilities of the Position
· Manage the Accounts receivable function – allocate payments, investigate invoice queries and debt collection
· Manage the Accounts payable function– enter invoices into system, allocate invoices for manager to approve, process payments in a timely manner. Managing records and receipts
· Reconciling daily, monthly, and yearly financial transactions
· Resolve financial disputes raised by the Program coordinator teams.
· Daily Bank Reconciliation through Xero
· Reconciling independent programs revenue and process monthly revenue KPI report for relevant Program manager.
· Reconciling the Medicare Payment statement and follow up on any outstanding not yet charge.
· Assist with payroll processing.
· Provide cover for planned and unplanned leave as required.
· Provide support to Financial Controller, as required.
· Provide support to Chief Finance Officer, as required.
· Provide financial and administrative support to all other staff, as required.
· Liaise with external stakeholders, as required.
· Contribute towards the development and improvement of documentation, procedures, and policies relating to finance functions, as required.
General
· Abide by the OSH Policy & Procedure and legislation.
· Comply with all contractual, statutory, and organisational obligations, deliverables and / or performance indicators as relevant to your portfolios / key responsibilities.
· Liaise with key stakeholders, community organisations and consumer representatives within the finance area as required.
· Work with other organisation staff members as appropriate.
· Participate in ongoing Quality Improvement activities.
· Other work as directed by the Financial Controller to ensure successful project delivery.
Selection Criteria
Essential
· Tertiary qualifications in relevant field.
· Communication skills, both written and verbal, including experience with developing financial reports.
· Experience with MS Office suite, XERO software
· Proactive and willing to scrutinise the current processes and procedures to offer Improvements and efficiencies
· Minimum 2 years’ experience working in a similar accounting role.
· Friendly approach to internal and external stakeholders.
Desirable
· Previous experience working within healthcare and the Not-for-Profit sector.
· Experience in health care using the NDIS Provider Portal (PRODA).
· Effective organisational and time management skills.
· High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
· Strong problem-solving skills and a can-do attitude.
· Ability to exercise integrity and maintain strict confidentiality.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, able to work effectively in a team.
Requirements of employment
· Valid Driver’s Licence and own vehicle for work purposes.
· National Police Clearance.
· NDIS Worker Screening Check.
