Programs Coordinator

This is a permanent, full time vacancy.

About the role

The Programs Coordinator role is to provide advice in relation to the implementation, and the manner of how external programs and services are to be delivered within the Youth Custodial setting. It also monitors the delivery of such programs and services, to ensure that they are being delivered in line with the Contract and Service Level Agreements. This position is the primary contact for all external service providers, along with internal service stakeholders in relation to the coordination and scheduling of the delivery of such programs and services within the Youth Custodial setting. The Coordinator also ensures that the program and services that are delivered provide effective through care supports, along with supporting the young person’s development as a responsible citizen.

Suitability Requirements

Through the recruitment process, we will be looking for candidates who can demonstrate skills, experience and attributes in relation to the following:

• Cultural Knowledge – You will have sound knowledge and be able to apply culturally responsive practices to uphold cultural identity, dignity and foster restorative therapeutic outcomes for Aboriginal young people.
• Legislation knowledge – You will have sound knowledge of youth justice legislation, policies and procedures relevant to custodial, throughcare and re-entry services.
• You will have demonstrated experience in coordinating and monitoring programs and services delivered by internal and external providers in human services environments.
• You will have demonstrated ability to manage service provider performance, reporting and continuous improvement processes.
• Lead Collectively – You will be able to demonstrate building and support effective work relationships, manage work priorities and outcome of the team and business area.

Eligibility

In accordance with the National Child Safety Principles, people who work directly with children and young people, you must have a current Working with Children Check or be able to successfully apply for one to be eligible for appointment to this position.

To be eligible for appointment to permanent positions in the West Australian Public Sector you must be an Australian citizen or have permanent resident status in Australia.

Permanent, fixed term, full time and part time appointments may be offered within the Perth Metropolitan area during this period.
