Casual Medical Receptionist

About the role

The Ridge Baldivis Medical Centre is seeking a Casual Medical Receptionist to join our friendly and professional healthcare team. This is a casual position based in Baldivis, WA 6171. As a Casual Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, providing exceptional customer service whilst managing the administrative functions that keep our medical centre running smoothly. This role is crucial in creating a welcoming environment and ensuring efficient operations across the practice.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting patients in a warm and professional manner upon arrival at the medical centre

• Managing patient check-in procedures and maintaining accurate patient records

• Answering telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members

• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using practice management systems

• Processing patient payments and handling billing inquiries

• Maintaining confidentiality and adhering to privacy legislation at all times

• Performing general administrative tasks including filing, data entry and correspondence

• Supporting doctors and nursing staff with patient flow management

• Assisting with practice organisation and cleanliness standards

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administration role

• Proficiency in using practice management software and general computer systems

• Excellent communication skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, doctors and staff

• Strong organisational abilities and attention to detail

• Customer service mindset with genuine empathy and patience

• Understanding of medical terminology and healthcare privacy requirements (such as AHPRA regulations)

• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a busy environment

• Current knowledge of Medicare rebate procedures would be advantageous
