About the role

We are seeking a Medical Receptionist Casual to join the team at Medeco Medical Centre Inala. This is a casual position based in Inala QLD 4077, offering flexibility for the right candidate. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be the first point of contact for our patients, playing a vital role in creating a welcoming and professional environment. Your work will directly contribute to the smooth operation of our medical centre and the delivery of quality patient care.

Key responsibilities

• Greeting and registering patients upon arrival at the medical centre

• Answering and directing telephone enquiries promptly and courteously

• Scheduling and confirming patient appointments using Best Practice

• Maintaining accurate and confidential patient records in accordance with privacy regulations

• Coordinating patient referrals and managing correspondence with other healthcare providers

• Assisting with administrative tasks including photocopying and data entry

• Providing information about medical services and clinic procedures to patients

• Managing waiting areas to ensure a clean, organised and welcoming environment

What we're looking for

• Previous experience working as a medical receptionist or in a similar healthcare administrative role

• Proficiency in using Best Practice software

• Strong verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on clarity and professionalism

• Excellent organisational abilities and attention to detail

• A compassionate and patient-focused approach to interacting with patients

• Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritise effectively in a busy environment

• Knowledge of medical terminology and healthcare industry practices

• Understanding of confidentiality and privacy requirements within healthcare settings
