Immigration Lawyer

Emigrate Lawyers, part of Kharel Law Group, is seeking an Immigration Lawyer with at least 1+ years of practical immigration law experience to join our growing legal team.
This role is suited to a motivated lawyer who wants to work across meaningful migration matters, contribute to strong client outcomes, and grow with a firm that values technical excellence, professionalism, cultural understanding, and practical legal strategy.

About the Role
The successful candidate will work on a broad range of immigration law matters, including:Conducting initial client consultations and advising clients on visa eligibility, strategy, risks, prospects and procedural requirementsTaking instructions, identifying client needs and recommending suitable immigration pathwaysAssisting with client conversion, including following up enquiries, explaining service options and signing up new clientsSupporting the firm’s marketing and client engagement activities in a professional and ethical mannerManaging immigration matters from start to finish, including strategy, evidence preparation, drafting, lodgement, follow-up and outcome managementWorking across partner, family, skilled, employer-sponsored and temporary activity visasHandling visa refusals, cancellations and merits review mattersWorking on protection visa and humanitarian mattersPreparing ministerial intervention requests and complex immigration submissionsDrafting legal submissions, statements, statutory declarations, forms and supporting evidence briefsLiaising with the Department of Home Affairs, ART, courts, counsel and other stakeholdersManaging client files with accuracy, professionalism, urgency and careMaintaining strong client communication throughout the matter lifecycle
About YouWe are looking for someone who has:Admitted as an Australian legal practitioner and holder or eligible of a current practising certificate.At least 1+ years of immigration law experienceStrong knowledge of Australian migration legislation, regulations, policy and procedureExperience preparing visa applications, review applications and legal submissionsExcellent written communication and legal drafting skillsStrong client-care skills and the ability to work with people from diverse backgroundsHigh attention to detail and the ability to manage deadlinesA practical, ethical and solution-focused approachAbility to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment
Experience in protection visas, ART matters, employer-sponsored visas or complex submissions will be highly regarded.
