Position Overview

We are seeking an Immigration Lawyer or Registered Migration Agent (Mandarin-speaking preferred) to join our growing Sydney office starting from September 2026.

The ideal candidate will have at least 1 year of post-qualification experience (PQE) in Australian Immigration Law and demonstrate the ability to manage immigration matters with initiative and professionalism, while collaborating closely with one of our Accredited Specialists. Proficiency in both Mandarin and English is highly regarded, given our diverse client base.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage a variety of immigration matters, including visa applications, review cases, and ministerial intervention requests.

• Provide strategic and practical advice to individual and corporate clients.

• Draft clear and persuasive submissions, legal arguments, and supporting documentation.

• Represent clients in tribunals, hearings, and consultations.

• Collaborate with one of our accredited specialist lawyers to ensure high-quality outcomes.

• Stay updated on migration law developments and policy changes.

• Contribute to continuous improvement of case management and internal systems.

• Comply with the firm’s internal policies, procedures, and workflows, and actively contribute to the firm’s efficient operation and overall growth.

What We’re Looking For

• Current Australian Practising Certificate (for lawyers) OR RMA registration.

• Minimum 1-year PQE in immigration law (lawyers) OR at least 1 year of experience as a Registered Migration Agent.

• Proven ability to handle immigration matters with attention to detail and efficiency.

• Strong drafting, research, and client communication skills.

• Ability to manage multiple cases in a fast-paced environment.

• High standard of professionalism, ethics, and client care.

• Proficiency in Mandarin and English is highly preferred.

• Familiarity with case management software (e.g., Migration Manager) and productivity tools (Microsoft Office, AI tools).

• Must have full work rights in Australia if on a temporary visa.

• Sydney-based candidates only — full-time remote work is not offered for this role.
