About the role
Hills Cardiology Group is seeking a dedicated and professional Medical Receptionist to join our team on a full-time basis at our Norwest NSW 2153 location. This is a key position at the front line of our practice, where you will be the first point of contact for our patients and play an essential role in ensuring smooth operations and exceptional patient experiences. As a Medical Receptionist, you will be responsible for managing patient interactions, scheduling appointments, and supporting the administrative functions of our cardiology practice. This role is fundamental to maintaining our reputation for outstanding patient care and clinical excellence.
What you'll be doing
Greeting and welcoming patients in a warm, professional and compassionate manner
Scheduling and managing patient appointments using practice management software
Processing patient registrations and updating medical records accurately and securely
Handling telephone enquiries and directing calls to appropriate staff members
Processing patient payments and managing billing enquiries
Maintaining confidentiality of patient information in accordance with privacy legislation
Coordinating patient flow and liaising with clinical staff to ensure timely consultations
Preparing consultation rooms and ensuring the reception area is clean and welcoming
Managing correspondence and administrative documentation
Supporting the wider team with general administrative duties as required
What we're looking for
High school certificate or equivalent qualification
Previous experience as a medical receptionist or in a healthcare administrative role
Proficiency with practice management software and Microsoft Office applications
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients, clinicians and colleagues
Strong organisational and time management skills with the ability to prioritise multiple tasks
Attention to detail and accuracy in record-keeping and data entry
Knowledge of patient privacy and confidentiality requirements, including understanding of relevant legislation
Professional telephone manner and customer service orientation
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
Current Working with Children Check (or willingness to obtain one) is preferred
