Retail Manager – McDonald’s Restaurant Job Summary

Oversee day-to-day operations of a McDonald’s restaurant, ensuring excellent customer service, food safety compliance, staff performance, and profitability.

Key Responsibilities.

 • Supervise and schedule crew members and shift leaders across all dayparts.

• Ensure compliance with McDonald’s operational standards (QSC: Quality, Service, and Cleanliness)

 • Manage food safety, sanitation, and health code compliance.

• Monitor inventory, ordering, and waste control.

 • Handle cash management, deposits, and register reconciliation.

 • Recruit, train, and develop crew members and shift leaders.

• Address customer complaints and resolve service issues promptly.

 • Track sales performance, labour costs, and other key financial metrics.

 • Enforce company policies and local labour law compliance.

• Conduct performance reviews and disciplinary actions as needed.

• Coordinate with Corporate and franchisee leadership on promotions and initiatives.

Qualifications

• High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.

• 5+ years of experience in fast food, retail, or restaurant management.

• Strong leadership, communication, and conflict-resolution skills.

• Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

• Proficiency with POS systems and scheduling software.

• Australian Standard or equivalent food safety certification a plus.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand for extended periods  

• Comfortable working in a fast-paced kitchen environment
